Family Smile Organization (FASMO) is a professional and volunteer-driven non-governmental organization based in Morogoro, Tanzania. We were officially registered in September 2019 under the Non-Governmental Organization Act 2002 of the United Republic of Tanzania.
We work across the prevention continuum — from upstream systemic interventions to community-level action — to improve health, nutrition and overall well-being for children, adolescents, families and communities.

Our Strategic Approach
FASMO applies upstream prevention approaches by addressing the determinants of health — including food systems, environmental sustainability, capacity gaps, policy engagement and evidence generation — while also implementing practical, evidence-based interventions at community level.
Our Areas of Focus
Health and Nutrition
We implement preventive and responsive interventions targeting maternal, infant, young child and adolescent health and nutrition. Our work strengthens health systems, promotes early prevention of challenges such as malnutrition and supports positive behaviour change.
Environment and Sustainable Agriculture
We promote climate-smart and sustainable agricultural practices to enhance food security, dietary diversity and environmental resilience for rural communities.
Capacity Building
We strengthen the technical and institutional capacity of frontline workers including youth, community health workers, local leaders and partner organizations through practical training, mentorship and continuous learning.
Research and Evidence
We generate and use evidence to inform policies and strategies, strengthen programme implementation and support data-driven decision-making that improves outcomes for communities.
Humanitarian Support
We provide targeted humanitarian and social support interventions for vulnerable populations during emergencies and periods of crisis.
