Youth Leadership

Youth as changemakers in health, nutrition and environmental sustainability

Youth leaders facilitating community dialogues

FASMO has continued to capacitate young professionals, reaffirming its commitment to youth leadership as a core pillar of its work. From the end of March to the end of April 2026, FASMO hosted six BSc Human Nutrition students from Sokoine University of Agriculture for a five-week hands-on field practical programme, a continuation of a long-standing partnership in which FASMO proudly welcomes students from Sokoine University of Agriculture every year for field practical training.

Students were immersed in cross-cutting areas including health, nutrition, mental health, and agriculture, equipping them with real-world exposure and the tools to become effective changemakers in their communities. Alongside technical field experience, students were capacitated with essential professional skills including personal branding, networking, advocacy, job hunting strategies, and CV writing.

To further enrich their journey, guest speakers and trainers from around the world joined the programme to share their expertise, experiences, and insights, exposing students to diverse global perspectives and inspiring them to think beyond borders.

At FASMO, we believe that investing in young people is investing in the future of health, nutrition, and environmental sustainability. This programme is a living example of what that commitment looks like in action nurturing the next generation of confident, skilled, and purpose-driven professionals ready to lead change in their fields.
